My Audible Reviews of Ghosts and Reincarnation Series by Kristen Ashley
Book 1-3
My Review Of Penmort Castle
I liked it; let me put that out there.
I wasn't really sure what I was getting into because well I like to go in blind like always. I mean it was already a given I was going to read it because; hello Kristen Ashley.
Cash isn't a favorite of mine especially in the beginning but he did grow on me. And the reason was because of how protective he was of Abby. His love really does shine through even before he said it and for that he is Aces in my book.
Abby, well I liked her just fine. I do wish she had a little more of a back bone. She wasn't weak per say she just needs that push to be, you know.
I felt for her a lot in this story to do what needed to be done to keep her family home still in the family. Not only that but all the losses the women had to deal with, that can’t be easy at all.
So when the older lady next door really takes a shine to her and her life and her best friend steps up. I really enjoyed that comradery.
Over all a good book, I like the twist. I loved the different characters.
The narrator she did a pretty good job. I have liked other she has done and I have not liked other books she has done but this one I quiet liked. I am so ready to jump in to book 2!
My Review Of Penmort Castle
Ok so I liked book one but I enjoyed book two just a little bit more.
The dynamic in which these characters come together is sad and heartbreaking. But also so very needed for all of them to heal.
The children needed a home, and the house needed a family. Douglas needed love and family who cared. And Julia needed to heal.
I didn't not like Douglas in the beginning I would call it cautious. I wondered why he was so stand offish and you learn why that is and your heart goes out to him.
I think I felt most for Julia just because she cared her grief on the outside and it was hard for her to be brave. Plus her past is kind of sad but for the most part she doesn't or I should say tries really hard to put it in the past but sometimes the past is just so painful it stays with you for a lot longer then you wish it would.
I love the interaction between the staff and the children, just all of it is refreshing, I have read a lot of books with kids but I like when they are so intertwined in the story that you couldn't image it without them.
Last but not least having a glimpse into Douglas and Julia falling in love was precious and I am so glad I listened to this audio, Abby does a great job with this narration. I enjoyed all her character voice. Worth the credit for sure.
My Review of Lacybourne Manor
This one was a little more what I was expecting with this series. Reincarnation is the key to this romance. It was actually really a sweet one.
Colin is a bit of an alpha male kind of dude, and for that I liked him and I didn't. He was almost on the too much side but he redeems himself bigggg time.
Sibyl is a character I had to grow to like, in some spots and sometimes I would say to myself how could you not like her all the time! Because she was sweet and kind and wasn't a push over (most) of the time. But there were sometimes when I wanted to shake her.
Together Colin and Sibyl make sense and for that, I can forgive all the other second guessing. It was sweet to hear them come to terms with not only what has happening but them falling in love with each other. Great love story.
Not sure of the narration in all 3 books was why I wasn't a fan of the males because she made them sound almost, He man. Mine. You do this… You Mine.
Her voice just had that possessive quality with each of the male voices. It worked for some part but again for others I just wanted regular Colin to come out. If that make any sense yay if not sorry!
